Historic Attractions in Bucks County
The history of Bucks County dates back as far as the late 1600s. Pennsbury Manor, the 17th century country manor house of William Penn, is also open to the public and offers a glimpse of how the founder of Pennsylvania spent his days. Riddled with a lush historical past and coupled with telling tales of yesterday, such attractions provide visitors with a taste of Bucks County’s colorful story.
Washington Crossing Historic Park, for instance, commemorates the crossing of the Delaware River by General George Washington and his troops on that fateful Christmas Day in 1776. A reenactment is performed for the public each Christmas Day. Every year, the live reenactment captures the historic relevance of this momentous occasion that forever altered the fate of America.
